演讲题目：数字版权管理（DRM）技术、应用及标准
数字音视频标准为人们享受内容提供了广阔的天地，也为商家创造了无限的商机。然而，大量的使用先进的信息与通信技术却已经动摇了内容市场，因而使我们处于一种僵持局面。在本报告中，讲者提出“数字媒体工程”这样一个概念，作为打破这种僵局的工具，进而开放数字媒体所创造的广阔天地。本次报告会，除了讲者以国际化的角度提出个人独有的看法外，还要和听众进行互动式的讨论。

Leonardo Chiariglione
ISO/IEC MPEG 主席
Dr. Chiariglione originated and chairs the Moving Pictures Experts Group(MPEG), the ISO standardisation group which produced the MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards that support rich-media applications on diverse delivery systems, MPEG-7, that supports advanced search and retrieval of audio-visual content and is developing MPEG-21, the Multimedia Framework. He also originated and chaired the Digital Audio-Visual Council (DAVIC), the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) and the EURASIP journal 'Image Communications' and was appointed Executive Director of the Secure Digital Music Initiative (SDMI). He is currently engaged in setting up the Digital Media Project (DMP) whose mission is 'to promote continuing successful development, deployment and use of Digital Media that respect the right of creators and rights holders to exploit their works, the wish of end-users to fully enjoy the benefits of Digital Media and the interest of various value-chain players to provide products and services'. He obtained his Ph.D. from the
Summary: Standard for digital audio and video have created new opportunities for people to enjoy content and business players to create new opportunities. However, the massive use of advanced Information and Communication Technologies has destabilised the role of the content market. As a result we are in a stalemate that hurts all concerned.The speech advocates the Digital Media Project as the instrument to break the stalemate and open the way to the opportunities offered by digital media.
Xin Wang is the Chief Scientist of ContentGuard,Inc.at Los Angeles, California, USA. ContentGuard is a spin-off in the year of 2000 from Xerox PARC,based on the Digital Rights Managenment(DRM)projects he had been working on since 1996. He is one of the key contributors to the ContentGuards’s DRM languages,XrML(eXtensible rights Markup Language),which is currently selected as the base for developing the Rights Expression Language(REL)within MPEG-21 and the Rights Language in the OASIS standard group.
