During the summer vacation, an "Overseas Internship" sponsored by the Department of Distribution and Information Engineering, Faculty of Marine Technology, was held in China. This program was part of a course called "Short-Term Off-Campus Training (Overseas)" offered by the Faculty of Marine Technology, and involved approximately two weeks of work experience at a Japanese company overseas.

　This year, the program was held at a consulting company (China, with two participating students). It has been held every summer since 2014, but was canceled or held online for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it will be held on-site again from 2023.

　During the training, the students visited various local companies and worked on their training assignments. On the last day, a final report session and graduation ceremony were held online, with the participation of faculty from the department, where they received feedback on the work and exchanged ideas.
